CostMuse helps homeowners understand what common home services actually cost — before they call a contractor. Too many pricing pages are vague or exist only to sell leads. We publish plain, unbiased reference ranges so you can walk into a quote knowing roughly what's fair.

What we cover

Cost guides for 38 home services — from tree removal and roofing to house cleaning, plumbing, and HVAC. Each guide shows a national range, a labor/parts/disposal breakdown, prices adjusted for 20 major US metros, and a quick estimator.

Where our numbers come from

Ranges are reorganized from public pricing structures (Homewyse-style cost breakdowns) and reviewed periodically. City figures apply local labor and disposal cost indices to the national baseline. These are reference estimates, not quotes — always get a local written estimate before hiring.

How we make money

CostMuse is free to use. We may earn revenue from advertising or partner referrals in the future. That never changes the cost data we publish — the ranges are the same whether or not a partner is involved.
